There are many things people with Medicare can do to help protect themselves from becoming a victim of Medicare fraud and protect their Medicare benefits. Below are listed some actions you can take that will MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
  • Protect your Medicare number.
  • Know your Medicare benefits.
  • Note Medicare services you receive and always review your Medicare Summary Notice (MSN).
  • Ask questions! You have a right to know about your medical care.
  • Don't let anyone convince you to receive medical care you don't need.
  • Don't let anyone convince you to see a doctor for services you don't need.
  • Nothing is ever "free"- don't give out your Medicare number if services are advertised as "free".
  • Never accept medical supplies from door-to-door sales people.
  • Never allow television, radio, or advertising to influence your health related decisions.
  • Don't accept offers of money or gifts for medical care or for access to your Medicare number.
